Samples, quotations and orders
This chapter follows a purchase from the first sample to the day the load leaves: what a sample costs, what to put in an enquiry, what our quotation contains, how you can pay, and how long each step takes. The figures are our current terms, checked by our sales team.
Free samples
Samples are free for companies that buy for production or trade: 100–200 g of each grade you ask for. An individual can receive one with proof of a link to such a company.
- Shipping is by FedEx at your cost, or on your own FedEx account if you give us its number.
- Timing: we send the samples after 3 business days of preparation.
- What: licorice root in any of our forms and grades. Free samples do not cover the licorice extract, which our extraction partner makes; for the extract, ask us.
- Import papers: plant material may need a permit or a phytosanitary certificate in your country even as a sample. Check your country's rules before you order a sample.
You are also welcome to visit our facility before you order. We help with the visa and the hotel, meet you at the airport and show you round. Buyer audits are welcome too.
To ask for samples, use the request form below and choose "Free sample", or open any licorice root product and press "Request a free sample".
What to put in an enquiry
A quotation is only as exact as the enquiry behind it. Send:
- the product and grade, or your own specification;
- the quantity, and how many loads a year if the order repeats;
- the packing, if not our standard bags;
- the destination country and the port or city;
- the Incoterm, or "to discuss";
- the standard the root must meet, for example the European Pharmacopoeia;
- the documents you need;
- when you need the goods.
Our sales representative replies within 24 hours, every day from 07:00 to 24:00 Uzbekistan time (UTC+5), in English, Russian or Uzbek.
How we quote
We publish no prices: each quotation is worked out for the grade, the quantity, the packing and the delivery terms. A quotation from us states:
- the product and grade, and the quantity;
- the price, with the Incoterm and its named place, for example "FCA Urgench railway station", or DAP with your warehouse as the place;
- the payment method and currency;
- the lead time;
- the packing;
- how long the offer is valid: 7 days.
The Incoterm decides most of the price. The more of the journey we take on, the higher it is: EXW leaves the most to you, DAP the least. Our shipping page sets out the eight rules we quote and who does what under each.
The minimum order is 1 t under FCA. Under every other rule it is a full load: 11 t in a 20 ft container, or 22 t in a 40 ft container or a tent truck.
Payment
We accept three methods, in US dollars, euros, Uzbek sum, Chinese yuan, pounds sterling, Swiss francs or Russian roubles:
- T/T, a bank transfer;
- L/C, a letter of credit: your bank undertakes to pay against documents that match the credit;
- D/P, documents against payment: the banks release the shipping documents to you when you pay.
The method, the currency and when payment falls due are set in the sales contract for each order.
From order to dispatch
- You accept the quotation within its 7 days.
- We sign a sales contract that sets the product and specification, the quantity, the price, the Incoterm, the payment, the delivery time and the documents.
- Payment follows the contract: a transfer, a letter of credit opened by your bank, or a collection through the banks.
- We prepare the load. About 30 days for a standard 22 t load: the root is cut, sorted, dried and packed, and the load gets one lot number, which appears on the invoice, the packing list, the bags and the certificate of analysis.
- Fumigation and documents. Every load is fumigated with phosphine before it leaves. The phytosanitary certificate and the certificate of origin take a few days and are ready before the load is. Documents for each shipment explains each of them.
- Hand-over. By truck, at our site in Bogot district (EXW or FCA); by rail, at Urgench railway station (FCA). Under C and D rules we arrange the main carriage.
- Transit. Most shipments take about 20 days or more: routes from a doubly landlocked country are long and seldom direct. Ask us about the route to your destination when you request a quote.
We keep a sample of each shipment for one year.
Regular supply
Our capacity is 500 t a year and more, and our root is harvested across Khorezm all year round, so the listed grades are available in every season. Today most buyers order load by load. If you need the same grade every month or every quarter, ask us about a yearly supply programme: tell us the grade, the yearly volume and how often you want loads.
